Fort Frederica National Monument
Established in 1736, the town of Frederica was the southernmost post of the British colonies in North America. It protected the rest of Georgia and South Carolina from the Spanish in Florida. Summers are hot and humid. Highs in upper 80's - lower 90's with high humidity. Winters are moderate, with a few periods below freezing.
