Home Of Franklin D Roosevelt National Historic Site

The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site contains "Springwood", the lifelong home of America's only 4-term President. Also on the site is the Presidential Library and Museum, operated by the National Archives. Visitors may enjoy a guided tour of FDR's home, take a self-guided tour of the Museum, or stroll the grounds, gardens, and trails of this 300-acre site.

Getting There

By Plane
The closest major airport is Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York (near junction of I-87 and I-84). Several major carriers have daily flights to Stewart. Car rentals are availble at the airport.

By Car
The park is located on Route 9 in Hyde Park, about 8 miles north of the city of Poughkeepsie, NY. For detailed directions from all major area roads, follow the link below.

By Plane
The Metro-North Commuter Railroad and Amtrak both stop in Poughkeepsie, about 5 miles south of the park. Call Amtrak 1-800-872-7245 or Metro-North at 800 638-7646 for information. Taxi service to the park from the Poughkeepsie Train Station is available. Taxi service from other points in the local area is also available. The Dutchess County Loop Bus System stops in Hyde Park several times daily; call (800) 924-8702 for information.

Getting Around
Once arriving at the park, all access is pedestrian. All park facilities, with the exception of the hiking trail network, are within easy walking distance.

Summers generally warm and humid, winters cold and snowy.
